I first met Lindsay May 28, 2004 in Maryland, where I was born. She was 22 years old. After years of snooping and investigating, I now have these tidbits to share about her. Favorite colors: blue and lime green Favorite season: winter Favorite author: C.S. Lewis My nickname, Cheeky, comes from my full name, Repecheek, which is from Reepicheep, the valiant warrior mouse in "Prince Caspian," "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," and "The Last Battle." She plans on naming her next Great Dane, Puddles from Puddleglum in "The Silver Chair." No matter what danger the characters found themselves in, Puddleglum never lost sight of the truth! Puddles is a great name, but my human will only use it if it fits the Dane's personality. Lewis' books are packed with great character names for her to choose from. Favorite philosophers: Ravi Zacharias and Rene Descartes (odd fact, I know, but she did major in philosophy) Favorite book: "The Lion, The Witch, and the Worldview," a collection of philosophical essays prompted by The Chronicles of Narnia (I know, she can become rather one-track minded. My grandparents laugh that she reads book on philosophy for her "fun" reading and not just for studying!) Favorite sport: hockey Favorite team: Toronto Maple Leafs. This piece of information came by great peril. She was sitting in the family room, knitting, and staring at the flashing box when all of a sudden, my mild-mannered human, threw her arms in the air and yelled "goal!" I jumped from my bed to see what was the matter, barking through the house, ready to defend family and home, but I couldn't find anything wrong. I simply did not understand what had happened. So I settled back on my bed and fell back asleep, when again, Lindsay yelled out. I don't think I like hockey, but she does! Favorite players: Curtis Joseph, Darcy Tucker, and Ty Domi Favorite sports announcer: Don Cherry on Hockey Night In Canada Favorite games: scrabble, chess, shooting pool Favorite activities: knitting, writing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, zip-lining, cross country and downhill skiing, qi gong, kung fu, and of course, playing with me. She is willing to try new adventures at least once and encouraged me to do the same. I discovered that my favorite was running through the woods and hiking with her. Trust me, my human is not athletically inclined at all, I've see her try to throw my rope and it end up on the roof! But she says as long as you are enjoying yourself and trying your best, it doesn't matter how bad you are. Just get out and have fun, in a safe manner of course. Favorite Bible verse: Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." [NASB] Favorite pastime: ME! We have so much fun together, running in the woods, playing snowball tag, and tug of war with my rope. I know she especially loves giving me Cheeky massages, behind my ears are her favorite places to pet. She gives me "Cheeky washings," which are like car washes. As I walk between her legs and she rubs my back from my head all the way down my spine to my tail. I do have to crouch to fit through, but it is well worth it. Also, she loves singing me to sleep every night. She sings to Jesus, but the sound of her voice is so calming, I always get a good sleep afterwards. Education: she graduated from North Carolina State University in 2008. Go Wolfpack! Now she is working on her masters at Southern Evangelical Seminary. Grey matter: she is analytical and likes to solve problems. She does a happy dance after figuring out a problem that has been bothering her for a while. Her happy dances are so fun; it is about the only time she lets me stand on her shoulders. Heart matter: she accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 6. Facial expressions: she cannot keep a mad face for very long at all before she bursts out laughing. I'd get in trouble on purpose sometimes just to see how long she could stay mad... 3 seconds tops. Although these trials backfired because even though she doesn't stay mad, she is consistent and consistently put me in "10 minutes in the sin bin" for disobedience. But it was so worth it!
